Our fall school tour is a "Hands On Adventure," providing a unique opportunity for students to learn about animals in an "up close and personal" experience.
The adventure starts at the Petting Farm Barn, where you meet and learn about our extended family of animals, including miniature horses, barnyard cats, miniature donkeys, sheep, camel, alpacas, miniature zebus, goats, wallabys, bunnies, chickens, turkeys and peacocks. We pride ourselves on having one of the cleanest petting farms anywhere. Students will be required to wash their hands, and we'll discuss why this is important.
All guests will have an opportunity to pet and feed the animals, if they wish to do so.
Lewis Farm Market presents, "Ag in the Classroom." Come on over, and have a seat to the Country Cluckin Chicken Revue where our chickens will talk and sing to you as you learn about chickens and egg production. Learning couldn't be more fun and then get ready if you dare to join in the chicken dance.
Next, students climb aboard the Apple Express for an educational, narrated ride through the Apple Orchard.
Everyone will learn about apples and the other fruit in our orchards.
The Apple Express will stop at a special orchard where students have the opportunity to pick your own apples to bring home.
--Do to unseasonable weather this spring our apple crop did not do well, we will be substituting u-pick pumpkins this year. --
The next stop is the teepee. Inside, you will hear the story, "The Little Red House, With No Doors, No Windows, and a Star Inside." After the story, everyone will enjoy apple cider and our homemade apple cinnamon donuts.
All fall tours will have the opportunity to watch the pumpkin chucker--weather permitting.
For an additional cost you can also add any or all of these attractions:
• 8-acre Corn Maze
• Giant Jumping Pillows
• Barrel Train
• Farming Rocks Gem Mining Company
These activities are a great way to top off your visit with lots of fun, laughter and exercise.
