Fun, Educational Spring School Tours

May 11 thru June 11, Spring Tours
Tuesdays & Thursdays

9:15-10:30, 10:45-12:00 and 12:15-1:30

Our Spring School Tours are a special "Hands On Adventure," providing a unique opportunity for students to learn about plants in an "up close and personal" experience.

Students board the apple express to tour the orchard and how we grow fruits and vegetables at Lewis Farm Market, Corn Maze & Petting Zoo in New Era, Michigan, north of Grand Rapids. Country Cluckin' Revue "Ag in the Clasroom"

New for school tours: Lewis Farm Market presents, "Ag in the Classroom". Come on over, and have a seat to the Country Cluckin Chicken Revue where our chickens will talk and sing to you as you learn about chickens and egg production. Learning couldn't be more fun and then get ready if you dare to join in the chicken dance.

Wagon Ride
Our educational wagon will be ready to take you on a trip through the orchards to learn about the trees that have been dormant all winter and how the buds and blossoms will produce fruit.

Working Bee Hive

The bees will be busy pollinating the flowers so in the fall Educational school field trips learn about the role bees play in grown fruits and vegetables at Lewis Farm Market, Corn Maze & Petting Zoo in New Era, Michigan, north of Grand Rapids. we can all enjoy the fruit.

How A Plant Grows-Plant a Seed
Find out how a plant grows. We will show you its life cycle. Each child will get a cup and plant a pumpkin seed. Take it home, transplant it and watch it grow!

Earthworm Tunnel Exhibit
Explore our winding tunnels of earthworms. How do worms contribute to the soil? Did you know that worms are nature's recyclers? Get up close and if you dare you can hold one.

Everyone will be able to jump on our Jumping Pillow for 20 minutes. Friday self-guided tours, jumping pillows are available all day.

NOTE: All rules and regulations that are currently on this site will be updated. No tour will be confirmed until you receive a 2011 rule sheet that will include a fax signature returned to us.

Costs:

Tours are $3.50 per person. Teacher and 1 aide are free. Parents and siblings are required to pay with the class, anyone not included in the teacher's payment will pay $4.50 at the door..
All teachers must be with their students at all times.
