Also Available: Self-Guided Field Trips
We mentioned that we are a working farm with more than 700 acres of fruit orchards and vegetables. However, we believe that our barnyards of animals are the most unique experience at Lewis Farms — we have alpacas, llamas, miniature horses, donkeys, wallabies, bunnies, zebus (huh?), chickens, ducks, peacocks, fallow deer … and two camels! And this is just where the exciting Fall field trips begin!
Fall Field Trips: September – October
Wednesday through Friday 3 different times each day About 1-1/4 hours long
Check for available dates and make a reservation online!
You will find our barnyards very clean! Everyone on your field trip will have an opportunity to pet and feed our animals, if they wish to do so. We will be answering questions about our animals — such as what they eat and where they come from! This is truly an adventure in learning that will not soon be forgotten. Bring your cameras!
All aboard the Apple Express!
Our narrated wagon winds through the Enchanted Forest, then out through the apple orchard to learn about apples and other fruits that we grow. And the Apple Express stops at a special little orchard where students have the opportunity to pick apples to take home!
An outdoor classroom with cluckin’ and dancing!
A special highlight of our field trips is an Ag in the Classroom presentation at the Country Cluckin’ Chicken Revue! Yep, our chickens will chirp and sing to you as you learn which came first — the chicken or the egg. It’s educational and amusing, and our lesson finale is … the Chicken Dance!
Come over for story time — the stories may vary! After the story, everyone will enjoy some apple cider and one of our homemade apple cinnamon donuts! Yum!
Wow! A special treat!
All fall field trips will have the opportunity to watch our big Pumpkin Chucker, if the weather cooperates! Pumpkins fly up to half a mile! Really? Yep, it’s true!
